There is a truly magnificent collection of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants... more than 3000 species in all.      
      
The Wooded Valley has open glades planted with bluebells, foxgloves and other woodlanders. This area is a delight, especially in Spring, with bulbs, camellias and rhododendrons. This is an all year round feature.      
      
The Heather Garden is undergoing a rolling programme of clearance and replanting with over 1000 new plants added during the last season. This garden boasts colour in all seasons but peaks in winter and late summer.      
      
The classic style of The Italian Garden makes it attractive at all seasons with splendid statuary, beautiful seasonal colourful bedding displays, and an ornamental pool, this garden is spectacular all year round. It's also now known as our Wedding Garden making a magnificient back drop for those memorable wedding photos, with the Italian Villa being the perfect wedding venue.

The Rock and Water Garden is a fine example of 1920's landscape design and construction. It has over 200 different taxa as well as 2000 dwarf spring bulbs. This is an all year feature.  
  
  
  

Acers in the Japanese Garden at Compton Acres

The Japanese Garden   
is a classic design enriched by many azaleas, with a Tea House that is wisteria clad in May.  
There are also fine specimens of gnarled pines and a weeping form of Hemlock.
