Overlooking Dorset’s South Coast, we are delighted to offer an exciting experience in association with Dorset Cruises. Our packages include a whole day of fantastic activities – with half a day spent touring our historic gardens and, the other, a cruise around the world’s largest natural harbour.
You can explore our five themed gardens, stroll through the Plant Centre, and treat yourself at the Café and Tearooms. In the same day, you can take a 90-minute scenic cruise aboard the ‘Dorset Queen’, a 1938 vintage motor yacht able to carry up to 97 passengers. A truly special vessel, it boasts an upper deck with panoramic views, enclosed saloon, a fully licensed bar, and a covered deck at the rear of the ship.
Whether you decide to set sail in the morning or afternoon, the beautiful Dorset Queen with its open foredeck and upper deck will provide unrivalled views as you cruise down the North Channel of Poole Harbour, passing ‘Brownsea Island’ with its famous castle and the renowned ‘Millionaire’s Row’ at Sandbanks. Venturing outside the harbour, you will be treated to views of ‘Old Harry’s Rock’ and the ‘Jurassic Coast’ World Heritage Site. The final leg of the journey returns you to Poole Quay via the five harbour islands and past the superb beaches of Poole Harbour.
Throughout your voyage, the Captain will provide you with local stories and live commentary explaining the varied points of interest. The cruise can be made even more special with the option of adding either a delicious Dorset Cream Tea or mouth-watering fish & chips.
Disembarking in the centre of Poole Quay, opposite the Poole Arms pub, you will be invited to ramble around the bustling quayside. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the popular seaside tourist destination and explore its many attractions and curiosities, such as the famous Poole Pottery studio.
