The Italian Gardens
The Italian Gardens at Compton Acres are defined by structure, symmetry and scale, with the sound and movement of water bringing energy to the formal layout. Framed by the striking façade of The Italian Villa, this garden delivers one of the most memorable views across the estate and provides a dramatic setting for wedding photography and special occasions.

Historic Features and Architectural Planting
Historic features remain throughout, including Bacchus in his domed temple, the Wrestlers of Herculaneum and original Venetian bronze lanterns. Planting is carefully arranged to complement the architecture, with clipped yews, clematis trained between stone columns and richly coloured seasonal bedding that includes Begonia, Bellis, Myosotis and Polyanthus. A smaller Roman Garden and the Palm Court, planted with Chusan palms (Trachycarpus fortunei) and Dwarf Fan Palms (Chamaerops humilis), that complete the wider Italian garden sequence.
